Kirby's Steakhouse, Southlake

We celebrated our Christmas traditions by enjoying a dinner at Kirby's. This is our favorite restaurant, without a doubt. We started with a Maryland Crabcake that would knock your socks off. It's pan seared, and it's mostly crabmeat...very little cake. It's served in a lemon burre blanc (yes, for us non-French that would be a lemon white butter sauce). It's Heaven on a plate! There was also a shrimp cocktail that was divine, but really it's hard not to get a good one of those unless someone uses bad shrimp. (not the case here...ours was awesome!)We followed that with soup. I had a creamy basil tomato and David had the lobster bisque. Again, nothing but joy in a bowl!!

Then we moved on to the entree. We actually split something so we wouldn't bust our pants buttons. We shared a filet mignon...seared to perfection! We ordered mushroom risotto and asparagus on the side, and we were in food Nirvana. Seriously, the risotto was perfect, the steak was like butter, and the asparagus, while tasty, was just slightly woody. (We found that the way to prevent that is to take a veggie peeler and shave the ends of the asparagus...it really helps!)Overall, a perfect meal!!

Another 5-star fave for us!
